“Home, Home on the Range!!”

I'm greeting the kids as they come in for Kansas Day Celebration, "Home on the Range"

Brachauchenius-Short-Necked Plesiosaur Fossil found in Russell County!

The Beta Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Women Educators are putting on an event for the Kansas Day Celebration!  It is called, “Home on the Range,” and is located at the Deines Cultural Center, Downtown Russell. They want our youth to learn about our Kansas Heritage.

I was invited to attended the Kansas Day Celebration so I could learn about our Kansas Heritage. There are 13 different stations within the three floors of the Deines Cultural Center.  Each station will share the history of Kansas.  As I walked around to each station, I learned about the fossils that were found in Russell County, the different Kansas Animals, how to Rag Rug Weaving, and how to make homemade butter and noodle’s.
