The Beta Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Women Educators are putting on an event for the Kansas Day Celebration!  It is called, “Home on the Range,” and is located at the Deines Cultural Center, Downtown Russell. They want our youth to learn about our Kansas Heritage.

I was invited to attended the Kansas Day Celebration so I could learn about our Kansas Heritage. First Home in Russell County!

The first log cabin house in Russell County!

Can you imagine the stories and the history that the first log cabin have developed over the years?
I was on my way to Luray, Kansas and when I saw the log cabin, I just had to stop.  I have heard some of the history about the log cabin but I have always wanted to experience the history myself.  As I was walking around the cabin, I could only imagine the stories that this cabin have developed over the years.

If you are a history buff or looking for something to do with your family this weekend, take a ride along K-18 highway and visit the first log cabin in Russell County!!  The cabin is open to walk-in visitors where one can only imagine life of the very first families to come to Russell County and what started the community of Luray, Kansas!!!
