Want to know a good way to kick off the fall season!? Come out and support your local Russell County Businesses at Granny Mae’s on Wednesday, October 2nd from 5:30-6:30pm!! Not only will you be supporting the Business Winners, you will also get to enjoy the nice fall weather and you will be able to see what is new at Granny Mae’s this year!! Awards will be presented at 6:00pm, and food and drinks will be provided by Granny Mae’s!! It is going to be a great time, and I hope to see you all there!!!
I just wanted to everyone know that we are hosting a Youth Hunt on Saturday, November 2nd from 7:00am-1:00pm!! Participants must be ages 11-16 with a hunter safety card and hunting license and there will be limited space!! Pre-registration is required and the deadline is Friday, October 18th. Need a registration form? Stop by the Russell County Economic Development and CVB office located at, 331 E. Wichita Ave.
7am – Registration at 4-H Building (Juice and donuts provided)
7:30am – Safety Talk (All participants are requited to attend)
8am- Load up and travel to Hunting Destination ( Youths are required to have an adult with them, Transportation not provided)
8:30am-12pm: Hunting/Educational Stations
12pm-1pm – FREE Lunch (hotdogs/chips/drinks)
I just wanted to let you all know on Saturday, September 21st there will be a 5K called the Crazy Leg Scurry, as part of Bricks, Broncs, & BBQ. You can run, walk, or bike wearing your most fun or craziest socks, shorts, or leggings!! Registration is at 7am at the Bob Dole Courthouse Square and the Race starts at 8am! Registration is $20; pre-registration is required by Friday, Septemeber 13th if you want a Crazy Leg Scurry T-Shirt!!! If you don’t want to participate in the Scurry but still want a shirt? Complete out the registration form with your name, address, phone number, and shirt size with $10. You can compete for time or you can just simply take your time!! Please make all checks payable to the Russell County Eco Devo and CVB. For more information please contact the Russell County Eco Devo & CVB Office. I just wanted to put a friendly reminder out that the last day to turn in a registration form for the Oil Days Parade is Friday, June 21st, you can turn your registrations in to the Russell Chamber office 507 N Main Street. Need a registration form? Come visit the staff and I at the Russell County Eco Devo & CVB Office, 331 E. Wichita and grab one! Also, it is not to late to sign up for the Dirty Dynamite Dash!! To sign up go to http://www.secure.getmeregistered.com then type Russell, KS in the search bar, registration fee is $25 plus, a $2.75 processing fee. Be prepared to get muddy!!
I’ve bought my concert ticket to see Gloriana have you?! If not you can buy General Admission tickets for $22.50 at these ticket outlets: Klema Apple Market, Russell Area Chamber of Commerce, Russell County Eco Devo & CVB!! You can still buy tickets the night of the concert at the gate they will $25.
Our outdoor dispenser outside our Eco Devo & CVB Office has packets of all the information, registration forms, and list of events and the times don’t be afraid to grab one! I hope to see you all participating this July 4th, 5th, and 6th!!!

I just want to remind everyone that Relay For Life is this Saturday, June 1st at the Russell High School gym from 7pm-12am. There will also be a Community Tailgate BBQ for Relay for Life from 5pm-7pm that same day at the Russell High School. Prices are $5/person or $20/family, they will be serving hamburgers and hotdogs. Some come out June 1st and support Relay for Life!!!
