The Beta Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Women Educators are putting on an event for the Kansas Day Celebration! It is called, “Home on the Range,” and is located at the Deines Cultural Center, Downtown Russell. They want our youth to learn about our Kansas Heritage.
I was invited to attended the Kansas Day Celebration so I could learn about our Kansas Heritage. There are 13 different stations within the three floors of the Deines Cultural Center. Each station will share the history of Kansas. As I walked around to each station, I learned about the fossils that were found in Russell County, the different Kansas Animals, how to Rag Rug Weaving, and how to make homemade butter and noodle’s.
Friday, January 27th will be the next day that they will have the Kansas Day Celebration. The Schedule for Friday is the following:
8:15-9:30am- 2nd grade
9:45-10:45am- Button and Bows Preschool and families
9:50-10:50am- Am Kindergarten
lunch: 1 hour 40 mins
12:30-1:30pm- Button and Bows Preschool and families
12:45-1:45pm- Pm Kindergarten
2:00-3:00pm- 1st grade
